Feelin' It

This week has got to be one of the best I have ever had.  I finished finals on Tuesday! Holla! I'm done with my second year of college. I seriously can't believe it.  To start off the summer Randi and I got tickets to see Hunter Hayes with Dan+Shay and Danielle Bradbery opening on Thursday night at UVU and tickets to see Scotty McCreery at USU on Friday.  Back to back country concerts? Can things get any better?  Why yes, they could.  There's this thing called the HH Road Race.  A piano key signed by Hunter is hidden along with 2 tickets and meet and greet passes somewhere in the city where they are performing.  Randi and I decided to go and try to find it.  The clues led us to the UVU baseball field where we starting searching.  When we got there, there were only about 5 other people searching. We thought we had a pretty good chance.  30 minutes went by and about 30 more people had shown up.  The HH Road Guy tweeted us another clue that said to check the dug out.  I was above one of them and as people started making their way around to the stairs I decided to just go for it and jumped down.  Pretty daring I'd say.  Haha but really I got down there and was looking on top of one shelf when another girl finally got down there.  She was checking another shelf and I looked over and could see it from my point of view but the girl couldn't because there was something in front of it.  As she started getting down, I ran over there and moved the stuff and IT WAS THERE.  I seriously couldn't believe it.  I calmly exited the dug out and called Randi to let her know I had won.  Seriously it was the craziest thing that has ever happened to me.  I never win anything!!
So we gave our tickets to my friend and her boyfriend and got our two new tickets and meet and greet passes.  Meeting Hunter was so awesome!! He was so sweet and it was just the coolest experience ever.  I'd be pretty sure I dreamt it up if it wasn't for this picture.
After we met him, we left to go get in our seats.  They were for the front row and we were super excited.  There was still the pit where people stood up and we had just been talking about how we wish we could have had tickets for up there when two ladies came up and said, "We have tickets for up there but it's a little too crazy for us.  Would you want to switch?"  At first we thought they were pulling our leg until they showed us their tickets and it was for real.  SERIOUSLY. OUR LUCK WAS FREAKING CRAZY!!! So we were like super close to the stage.  We touched Dan in the opening act and were just right there.  It was crazy insane.  Dan+Shay seriously are perfect and I hope to one day see them in their own concert so they can sing more than four songs.

Danielle was good but she is young and doesn't have super great stage skills yet but she'll improve as she continues! It was still cool seeing her after watching her on The Voice!

Hunter was freaking amazing.  He was so energetic and performed great!! He was so humble and has just such a sweet personality.  I didn't want the night to end!!

After the concert, Dan+Shay tweeted that they were meeting people outside of section 15, so of course we had to head over there.  They were awesome too.  We told Shay how we were facebook friends and he said, "Are we facebook best friends?" Hahah it was sweet. The day was freaking perfect.  I met Hunter Hayes and Dan and Shay.  Never in a million years would I have thought that either of those things would ever happen.

On Friday we drove up to Logan to see Scotty!! We weren't nearly as close for his performance and unfortunately didn't get to meet him but I hope that one day I will! His voice is so deep and absolutely perfect.  He is just adorable and straight up country.  It was an awesome night and the perfect topper to our incredible country concert weekend.

The Scenic Route

I took a drive down to Utah Lake the other night just to get out of the house.  It was so pretty.  The moon especially. And then on Monday night we watched the Lunar Eclipse from the lake and it was cool.  It was super awesome to see the moon slowly get covered up by the shadow of the Earth and it was totally worth staying up till 3am for.

Who said it?

I came across this while browsing the internet and loved it. It's is a fun collection of quotes from two of my favorite people!! What could be better!

"Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right" - Dumbledore

"Never give up on anyone. And that includes not giving up on yourself." -Uchtdorf

Bridal Veil Falls

Yesterday Aubs and I took a drive up Provo Canyon and decided to walk up to Bridal Veil Falls.  As you can see in the picture, an avalance seemed to have hit and completely covered everything.  So what else would we do but follow the children and climb it.  Hahaha. Also on our way we saw this sign. It had my name and favorite number on it so I couldn't not take my picture with it.

i DONUT want to study

It's finally starting to feel like spring. It's been in the 70's this week and so today after class Aubs and I went and dipped our feet in the pool and enjoyed the nice weather.  Afterwards we decided to treat ourselves to a Krispy Kreme donut. I love that you can see the mass production of fresh donuts while you wait in line. Mmm.

BRAND NEW CARTS

Today's adventure is brought to you by a neighborhood walmart.  I saw the signs for it about a month ago and haven't been able to stop talking about it.  So of course, I went to the grand opening today.  And it was PERFECT.  The carts are all brand new so they roll perfectly.  No squeaking, no bumping, nothing but smoothness everywhere.  That may have been my favorite part.  They have all the essentials and even the $5 movie bin.  #whatmoredoesoneneed I am just so excited about it and will definitely be going there for everything I need for the next two weeks. Yeah, that's right.  Just the next two weeks because then ITS FREAKING SUMMER.  Life is great.  (Remind me I said that when I'm complaining about how much life sucks during finals.)

Massaman Curry

Yesterday Milly and I finally went to Spicy Thai after months of talking about it.  Our favorite thai place, Thai Mango, closed and we were heartbroken.  We're still trying to find a replacement and while Spicy Thai was good, we're still searching.  So if you have any suggestions, speak up!!!

1942

On Monday night we celebrated my Grandpa's 72nd birthday!! He is so great and I'm so blessed to get to see him so often.  I went to Carrabba's with my grandparents, the Doherty's(sp?), Aunt Val and Aunt Colleen to celebrate.  That place is bomb.  It's the 2nd time I've been with them and I'm just in love.  They have this really good sausage something soup and then I got Fettucine alfredo with shrimp.  Mmm. Afterwards we went to my grandpa's house for cake and ice-cream.  After that Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Colleen and I played a game of 5 crowns.  It was a fantastic night.

CAPTAIN HOTTIE

Thursday night, when I should have been studying for my physiology test, Aubs and I decided spur of the moment to go to the premiere of Winter Soldier.  I could write a whole post on how much I love Captain America but I won't.  Instead I'll just say that the movie was great.  So much better than the first and probably my favorite Marvel movie yet.  I'm excited for all the rest to come out.

Also, since we decided so last minute we were worried that we wouldn't be able to find good seats.  Luckily we got two together and went in.  There wasn't anyone in our row yet but soon enough a freaking army of children walked down our row.  I think all the adults were behind them but it was just funny cause I felt like I got stuck at the kid's table at Thanksgiving.  So this picture below is us trying to capture the children while pretending not to be creeps......hahaha
Also, if you're one of those people that claps during and after a movie, I dislike you very much.

The Time We Flooded Our Service Project

We had a Relief Society service activity at the unmentionable hour of 8:30am on Saturday morning.  We joined many from Y serve and went to this wonderful school for children with autism and helped just clean up around the facility.  Some people changed light bulbs, some washed windows etc.  My group got assigned to cleaning the plastic balls in the ball pit.  We had to wash each one in a sink with bleach water then rinse them and then dry.  Luckily it was a semi-small pit.  It only took us 6 trash cans full.  I really enjoyed the opportunity to serve and spend time with the wonderful ladies in my ward.  After two hours of ball cleaning and jamming to Shakira we finished and drained the sinks.  We didn't think it through very well and drained three at once and it kind of overflowed.  #oops  It's always an adventure!
