Festival of Colors!

That night we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and we had the most attractive waiter in the world.  So... JUSTIN FROM TEXAS ROADHOUSE, if you ever happen upon this, you're a babe and should just marry me.  Sincerely, that girl who spoke really quiet so you had to lean in close. <3333
:)
After that we went and saw Endless Love and it was adorable and I'm basically in love with Alex Pettyfer.  Gahhh. Life.

FRIIIIIDAY.

On Friday afternoon I went to my grandparents to do laundry and work on some homework.  I love that they live so close and that I'm able to get away from the craziness of my apartment sometimes.  I was able to finish my psychology essay and laundry (for free! Ain't that the best!) and then played two games of Cribbage with my Grandpa.  He had taught me the last time I went over there for dinner and it's so fun.  Basically doing anything with my grandpa is fun but add in a card game and I'm in heaven.  I beat him the first time and then he beat me the second.  I also love playing with him cause he's not super competitive like my brother and dad! Haha jokes. Kind of. :)
Also note the little matches we use as pegs.  It cracks me up.

There's this scavenger hunt thing going on in Provo that started a couple weeks ago. You follow purelife__ on instagram to get the clues and they have different prizes.  This weekend was the second hunt and the prize was a $50 giftcard to this diner.  So Friday night Bree, Kyle and I decided we wanted to try to find it and then go to dinner there.  The people put up one clue at a time and you have to get a certain amount of likes for the next one. It ended up being at Taylor Hall in Helaman Halls -- where I lived last year!! We looked around for about an hour and were hungry and didn't wanna wait for the next clues so we finally just gave up and got pizza.  I swear I'll find one of the prizes before it's over.
After that I went over to Milly's.  With our crazy schedules we basically never get to see eachother anymore.  It's definitely rough going from living with someone and being with them basically 24/7 to like once every 2 weeks.  Haha but it was fun. She always gets me hooked on tv shows and the latest is Gilmore Girls.  So we just caught up with eachother, gossiped about our roommates, got some caffiene at Sodalicious -- one of our new favorite places, and watched gilmore girls. Great way to end a long week!

Violet Tortoise

After a long, hard week an ice cream trip to Purple Turtle was very much needed.  Everytime I go I'm just taken back to the days I lived in PG.  Life is just great and I am so thankful for the life I have lived and the memories I have made.  Sometimes I focus too much on the future or past and forget to live in this day.  Remember to take advantage of today and make each day an adventure.  Never stop the party. :)
"Never let the sadness of your past and the fear of your future ruin the happiness of your present." --My friend tweeted this and I found it very fitting.

Tonight a friend invited us to go over to his friends for a movie night.  We arrived in this super nice neighborhood and parked on the street.  As we were walking by houses talking about how nice they were my friend goes, "this one here was built by the Osmonds." "Like, thee Donny Osmond?" "Yep! They used to live here."  So as we got to the gate, he turned to walk up to the front door.  The rest of us were all like.....whhaaaat?  He said, "Oh yeah and my friend's grandparents bought it from them."  So holy crap. It was beautiful.  The picture below is the view from the dining room.  He gave us a tour and we found that the house had an inside hot tub, a sauna, a steam room and a very nice theater room.  Seriously I was just in awe. It was definitely an adventure.

Oh brothers.

I got to go home this weekend and see this wonderful boy in his school musical on Friday.  He was a townsperson in The Pied Piper and was great! He sang and danced, had two lines and even got a moustache.  He was so excited about it and when I left on Sunday, he said, "Thanks for coming to my play." Seriously he's the cutest, smartest 10 year old I know and I miss being around him everyday.

On Saturday, the fam (besides Meg) piled into the car to go watch Max's baseball game.  It was in Bear River which is about 30 minutes away.  Connor talked like he knew where he was going to my dad listened to him and needless to say, we had a nice 15 mile detour through the country.  I was happy though. I even got my dad to turn the radio to country and it was a real good time. ;)

Don't mind my awkward face in this picture. It's the only one I got with Connor and those are hard to come buy.  Seriously though, I just love my brothers.

Massimo! #17. The game didn't go too well but he was still awesome.  He's such a stud and has grown like 5 feet I swear. Everytime I see him he just towers over me more and makes me miss the days when he was actually my LITTLE brother.
You wouldn't be able to tell by this picture but we were sitting on a sleeping bag and had two over us. THE WIND WAS FREEZING.

The rest of the weekend was just as great.  I played basketball with Max, Connor and my Dad, watched Once Upon a Time and the Fosters with Meg, made Sausage Rigatoni with my Mother and just had a grand old time.  It was such a great opportunity to go home and spend time with my family.  I seriously took those days for granted and wish everyday that I could see them.  I think that's one of the hardest things about being the oldest child. Moving out while they all still get to live together. #sonotfair #jealousyprobs

Spring is upon us!

Yesterday I went to my first BYU baseball game of the season.  We played San Diego and the score wasn't too hot but it was still fun.  Besides the occasional gust of wind, it was a perfect day! And with some of the campus buildings and mountains in the background, it was just awesome. I'm excited for the next game and even more excited for summer!

One of my roommates used to be a bartender and knows how to make delicious virgin drinks.  I asked if she could make me a mojito because those are my absolute favorite and she did!  I was so excited. We're making them again tomorrow for St. Patricks day.  I'm stoked.

Pi day!!!

I absolutely love pi day.  I'm not really sure what brought on the love for this day except for the obvious.  I love math and I love pie.  There is no better day than this!  I've been looking forward to it for months and it finally arrived.  Since I don't have a car, I wasn't able to go buy pie but luckily a friend of mine had made some and was willing to share.  Cherry isn't my favorite, but I wasn't about to complain.  I ate pie and therefore, the day wasn't a complete failure.
P.S. Next year at 9:26 is gonna be the ultimate pi day celebration!
3/14/15 9:26  PERFECT!

This picture is from last year, but I wore the same shirt today so you get the idea. :)

Mmmm.

This gem was on the door leading out of my apartment complex.  I'm not sure what was originally attached so I can only guess.  Starter Pokemon? Pokeballs?  I guess I will never know.  Gotta love Pokemon!!

And since I didn't post a picture of me from pi day this year, here's a lovely one of me last week. Just so noone forgot that I chopped my hair off and am impatiently waiting for it to grow back already.

Refuge

Somedays, to get away from the world, you just need to run away to the temple.  And if it happens to be midnight, you can run away and sit outside the temple.  Either way, it's a nice reminder of the meaning of life and that everything is going to be okay.  There's nothing bad enough that a little perspective can't fix.

Where did February go?!

February seems to have come and gone and the next round of midterms is upon us.  With that, comes lots of studying.  Aubree and I went to the library yesterday and studied for a few hours.  I never want to make the trek up to campus but once I'm there I'm reminded of the nice quiet environment, free of distractions and I get so much done!! To reward ourselves for being so good, we decided to go to the dollar theater.  We decided to see The Book Thief and holy crap is was so good.  It was so sad and I balled and Aubree made fun of me but the movie was just so good.  I love movies that actually make you feel something and reflect upon your life.  Afterwards we went to Pop N Sweets, one of our favorite little sweet shops.  They have like 100 kinds of rootbeer and foreign candies and they make great floats.  Our favorite worker, Henry, makes this float called the Loch Ness Swamp Monster.  It's raspberry icecream with cream soda and a little bit of blueberry birch. It's soooo good.
