DUCKS!

On Tuesday the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day! Erin, Bree and I decided to go get JCW's (best burger place around) and have a picnic and feed the ducks.  It was super fun.  There were so many ducks that were all hungry for our bread.  We seriously used like half a loaf.  Afterwards we went and swang on "The Swing".  Swinging always brings out my childish side.  Days like that make me excited for summer.  I miss the warm sun!

We went grocery shopping after our little adventure.  When we got home, we had a bit of an accident.  We knocked a whole gallon of milk off of the table and it split.  It surprised us and we kind of just stared and watched it gush.  Needless to say, it covered our floor and was a pain to clean up.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

My grandparents live about 15 minutes away and it's about the best thing ever.  I love going over for Sunday dinner and just getting to see them a lot more often.  This week my aunt and cousin were in town from Texas so on Saturday night we, along with my two other aunts who live in Draper, went bowling at the Wilkinson Center.  It was a lot of fun. My grandparents hadn't been since my family lived in Utah years ago.  My grandpa used to be on a bowling team in college though so he used to be pretty good.  After a few more times going and getting used to it again, he'll definitely kick my butt.  He has his own ball and shoes and everything.   All I want in life is my own bowling ball.  My bowling classes seem to have paid off because I won both games we played.  The first time I got 156 and the second 159.  One day I'll bowl a 200.  Afterwards, we went to my grandparents house and had soup and pie.  One of their good friends made the most wonderful lemon pie.  It was incredible.
Mmm! Obviously I couldn't even wait to take a bite till I after I took a picture.
Tonight I went over for Sunday dinner.  I hung out with my little cousin who colored me a picture of a princess.  She colored it all orange since it's my favorite color.  She also called me her best friend. So there's that.  After dinner we played Mexican Train.  It's a game with dominoes.  It's super fun.  I somehow managed to come in first in that one too. It's just my weekend to be a winner I guess. :)
My adorable cousin out on the deck.
Also, check out this sunset.  It was a beautiful day, giving me hope that spring is coming soon.  Cross your fingers!! My grandparents have the best view from their back deck.  This only lasted a few minutes before it was turning pink and then soon was gone.  It always reminds me of the poem that Ponyboy quotes in The Outsiders.

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay

Wings, Hats and Skating

Today, we made a trip up to Bree's house in Fruit Heights.  It was nice to get out of the apartment and spend the day in a home.  Bree's mom made us Taco Soup for lunch which was delish and then we watched Austenland while playing Telestrations.  Later we went to Buffalo Wild Wings.  I'm a child at heart and couldn't not have us put these hats on once I saw them.

Afterwards we went ice skating with the guys from apartment 48.  We met them in SLC since we were already up there so while waiting for them, we stopped by City Creek and walked around.  We found these very nice hats.

Next thing we knew, the guys were at the ice rink and we were still at City Creek.  We were running to the Gallavin Center when one of those guys on a bike with a carriage on the back asked us if we wanted a ride for FREE! Of course, we couldn't turn him down.  It was only like a two minute ride but something we have all secretly wanted to do.  Let me tell ya, for pedaling a bike pulling 3 girls on the back, we were cruisin.  Hense the wind blown hair.  It was sweet.

The rest of the night was spent ice skating.  I'm definitely not a pro but it was fun.  Overall, an adventurous day!

I'm a very intense skater hahaha

country music is where its at

After dreaming about this happening for forever, my friend Randi and I discovered that Hunter Hayes was coming to Utah in April. We found this to be the perfect opportunity for us to see him.  Danielle Bradberry is coming with too, along with Dan + Shay.  It's gonna a be a night to remember!!!

A hospital for the mind.

A couple months ago, my roommate Bree and I got library cards! The library is just down the street so we finally took the time to do it.  Today while going to pick up a book, Erin joined us and got herself a library card as well.  This may not seem like much of an adventure but let's be real, books are the cheapest vacation you can buy! All I want in life is to spend a couple months on a beach somewhere reading countless book.

Arches National Park

I had a great trip with some great friends over President's Day weekend.  I was seriously amazed at the beauty of it all; the night sky, the wonderous formations. It was definitely an adventure.
